God has pursued me all my life- during my 24 years in the Army, then 7 years as the first Security Chief of Cumberland County Schools in Fayetteville, NC and 3 years as the Director of Youth, Families and Missions at Highland Presbyterian.
At the grand young age of 56, I decided to head off to Campbell Divinity School, and was ordained as a Pastor in the Presbyterian Church USA in 2007. After having served as the Associate for English Ministries at the Korean Presbyterian Church of Fayetteville for the next 7 years, God decided it was time for me to become Pastor of Sherwood Presbyterian Church in Gray's Creek (outside of Fayettevile, NC). What a blessing that has been!
I am married to Bobbie, my bride of 39 years and have 3 children- Jennie, Erik and Shawn and 5 grandkids- Nathan, Daniel, Emma, Sophia and Maceo. I love getting to know others, sharing God's love and helping others.
One of my passions is teaching Bible classes to inmates at Scotland Correctional Facility and helping to Pastor Pilgrimages. I absolutely believe that churches need to look outward and be engaged as a force for Christ in the community, and that love must be an "action verb" if we are going to be Christ-like in our lives.
I would invite you to "come and see" what God is doing at Sherwood! I want to warn you up front- you will not be the same!
